With the news that Thai-coon Thaksin Shinawatra will be giving Sven Goran-Eriksson yet more cash to buy strikers during the transfer window, we look at the men who the Swede may be looking to bring in...
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
Age: 24
Club: Ajax
Is he any good?: 'The Hunter' finished top of last season's Dutch scoring charts with 36 goals in 51 games for Ajax. He is the all-time top scorer for the Holland U-21 side, and has scored 3 in 9 for the full squad. But will he be another Van Nistelrooy, or another Kezman?
Likeliness of signing: 5/10. Good enough for the Premier League, but may hang on for a move to a bigger club such as Man Utd.
Dimitar Berbatov
Age: 26
Club: Tottenham Hotspur
Is he any good?: The current captain of the Bulgarian national team, his 23 goals last season helped Spurs to a 5th place in the EPL. Is very hard to shake off the ball, while he also possesses a wide range of finishing
Likeliness of signing: 6/10. The current unrest will only fuel the fire of Dimitar leaving, and the striker has recently spoke out at being left on the bench during recent games. Watch this space.
Nicolas Anelka
Age: 28
Club: Bolton
Is he any good?: 'The Incredible Sulk' recently had a burger named after him, and still scores for France. He has always banged them in wherever he's gone, but a 'holier than thou' attitude has always prevented him from staying at the very top.
Likeliness of signing: 7/10. There's no way Anelka will want to stay at 19th-placed Bolton. A move elsewhere is likely, and why not back to a club he has scored the most goals for in his career?
Samuel Eto'o
Age: 26
Club: Barcelona
Is he any good?: Just slightly. 61 goals in 90 games for Barcelona. And that's just in La Liga. Scores 1 goal in every 2.5 for his country, his striker is both legendary and frightening.
Likeliness of signing?: 2/10. There is unrest at Barca, but only in a tabloid is this story possible.
Kevin Kuranyi
Age: 25
Club: Schalke 04
Is he any good?: Has always scored a decent amount of goals wherever he's been, the German international scored 17 in 38 games last season for Schalke, and recently scored against England in a friendly. Lightning quick and tenacious, he would adapt well to the EPL.
Likeliness of signing?: 7/10. Has the potential to do well in England, and Sven may see him as the man who can score for City on a regular basis. Schalke aren't the biggest club, so his price tag shouldn't be too hefty.
Can you think of anyone else Lady's Man Sven should be sweeping off their feet to take them back to wonderful Manchester?
